What you should look for, and why we have it
So you're looking for a rental property in Glasgow, or perhaps you have one you're looking to rent out. To help properties be their best, we've compiled a list of the top qualities that'll ensure both landlords and tenants get the most from their rentals.
As established property managers in Glasgow and the surrounding areas, we know what it takes to help keep things running smoothly, keep our tenants and landlords happy, and properties in top condition.
Whether you choose A&S Properties, remain private or look elsewhere, we are here to help with any property needs you may have. So if you're looking for a new home, renting out one you own, or just wish to discuss your choices (such as investment opportunities in the Glasgow area), give us a call.
1. Trustworthy
One of the most important aspects of a landlord is whether or not you can trust them. Before making any decisions, you should spend some time looking at reviews, asking anyone you may know who has had experience with them and ensure you're well informed.
Google My Business is a great place to look for reviews and look at our reviews here.
2. Established
Having a solid foothold and an existing presence in the area you're looking for is always a big plus. This can help demonstrate that the landlord, or the agency, are familiar with the local market, the value of its properties and are likely to have local industry contacts.
You can take a look at the Glasgow properties available through A&S here.
3. Registered and insured
As of 2018, all Scottish letting agents must be registered with the Scottish Government's Letting Agent Register and hold the appropriate Client Money Protection and PI insurances. The same goes for private landlords who need to complete landlord registration with Glasgow city council before putting ay properties up for rent.
The register is an excellent scheme as it easily allows you to spot agents who are not 'up to code' and deters the property management companies which give our industry a bad name.
4. Accessible
Another major factor in what differentiates the good from the bad in the property industry is their communication. The ability to be clear and prompt when dealing with enquiries can give you an idea of how they will respond to issues with a property deal with tenant correspondence and how easy it will be to get in touch with them when needed.
Some companies, such as ourselves, make communication a priority. With dedicated contacts for Perth, Dundee and Glasgow, we always ensure someone is available when needed. We have also set up portals online where issues can be addressed and logged, such as any required maintenance.
So there you have it, the qualities we think are the most important in finding a high-quality landlord or property management service. Whether it is Glasgow City Centre, the popular Glasgow West End or another location in the city, A&S Properties prides itself on having all the qualities above and providing a range of excellent services for new or experienced landlords and tenants.
