Free open day for private landlords in Stirling
Private landlords in Stirling may be interested in attending a free private rented sector open day and conference to be hosted by Stirling Council next month.
The annual event, which provides an opportunity for landlords and letting agents to meet key players in Stirling’s private rented sector, gather information and seek advice, will be held at the Albert Halls on Tuesday 9th May from 1.30pm to 4.30pm.
A number of agencies and services, including Stirling Council representatives, private sector housing teams, the Empty Homes Officer, Shelter’s ‘Letting Agent Plus’ project, SEPA, Home Energy Scotland and representatives from approved tenancy deposit schemes, will be present at the event, providing expert advice and information.
Representatives from the Scottish government and Scottish Association of Landlords will be giving talks about the new private residential tenancy and the first-tier Tribunal for Scotland, and a leading expert from the Housing and Property Chamber will discuss the Repairing Standard while exploring real-life case studies.
The Landlord Accreditation Scotland will also be presenting a session looking at recurring areas of interest from their national training programme.
Alastair Brown, director of localities and infrastructure at Stirling Council, said: “We’ve already had significant interest from local private landlords and agents about this event – last year we had over 100 delegates in attendance, who were keen to hear from experts and share best practice.
“I’m certain the upcoming Open Day will prove just as successful – places are still available and I would urge anyone interested in attending this free event to book their place soon.”
To register for this year’ event, contact Stirling Council’s Private Sector Housing Team on 01786 237678 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
